Flax Seed Tiny Seeds With Massive Impact
Why I always use ground flaxseed, not whole.
This tiny seed is one of the most powerful foods for hormone balance, gut health, heart health, and stable blood sugar — but only when it’s ground. Whole flax passes right through your body, so you miss the omega-3s, lignans, and fiber that make flax so healing.
Ground flax is packed with:
• Omega-3s that support brain health + reduce inflammation
• Soluble + insoluble fiber for better digestion + regularity
• Lignans that naturally support estrogen balance (amazing for menopause, PMS, and perimenopause)
• Cholesterol-lowering benefits shown in multiple studies
• Blood sugar support for more steady energy
One tablespoon of ground flaxseeds contains approximately: Omega 3 (ALA): 1.6 to 1.8 grams
For context, the recommended ALA intake for adult woment is about 1.1grams per day, so one tablespoon alone provide 145 to 165% of that amount
💛 Tip: Buy whole flaxseeds and grind them at home. Pre-ground flax (flax meal) oxidizes fast and can taste bitter or “off.” Freshly ground flax is mild, nutty, and far more potent.
I add 1–2 tablespoons to smoothies, oatmeal, bowls, salads, and even to thicken soups or dressings. A simple daily habit with huge impact.
